She is a Consultant Clinical Nutritionist practising for the last Thirty years. She has graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and did her post graduation in Foods and Nutrition from P S G College of Arts and Science, Bharathiyar University and awarded PhD in Foods and Nutrition from Mother Theresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal. Her research was on child nutrition. She has held various appointments like outpatient dietician, clinical nutrition manager, Chief Nutritionist and Project Manager in prestigious institutions and organisations like Army Medical Corps. Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, Krishna hospital Kochi, Medvista Health Care Solutions India Pvt Ltd, online Nutritionist for India world communications and Sify Ltd, board of advisor for Playon Skills Pvt Ltd, Consultant Nutritionist for National Rural Health Mission, Kerala State. She was the Consultant Nutritionist for UNICEF Office, Kerala. She was the member of board of studies for P. S. G College of arts and science Coimbatore for both under graduates and post graduates in the year 2006 – 2008. She is a regular columnist in the Hindu newspaper, Smart family, Kanyaka magazine, Dent Care Magazine, Ritz, Manorama Arogyam etc. She has drafted the nutrition policy for the Kerala state in 2013.
